What I didn't realize was that in addition to scent, the candle was releasing toxins that I was then breathing into my lungs. Not cool.
That's why I'm so glad I have essential oils and diffusers to replace toxins! Not only are essential oils free of toxins, but they can have many benefits when used aromatically, such as in a diffuser.
If you're not sure what a diffuser is or how to use one, here's the scoop:
This is one of Young Living's many diffusers, the Dewdrop Diffuser. In addition to a diffuser, it also acts as a humidifier and atomizer.
To use the Dewdrop diffuser, first remove the white cone-shaped piece from the top by lifting up gently.
Surprise! There's another white cone-shaped piece. Remove that one by pulling up gently, too.
Add water to the reservoir up to the fill line. For the Dewdrop, the fill line is that red dot. You don't have to use filtered or bottled water. Tap water works great!
Add 3-5 drops of essential oils to the water (more for a larger space, less for a smaller space). If you know me at all, you're probably not surprised to see that I'm diffusing Stress Away today! I diffuse it every day!
Put the smaller cone-shaped piece on top of the base. It doesn't have to be turned any specific way.
Place the larger cone-shaped piece on top of that. Again, it doesn't have to be turned any specific way.
Make sure the diffuser is plugged in, then press the power button, which is shown on the front of the base in this picture. The diffuser lights up blue, and mist comes out of the top.
You can press the power button again to turn off the light but maintain the mist. This is a great option if you want to diffuse while you sleep! The diffuser will run for 3 to 4 hours and shut off automatically. Press the power button a third time if you want to shut it off before then.
Fun fact: your Young Living diffuser is under warranty for a year! If anything goes wrong with it, just call Customer Service and they will replace it for you. They are well-built, though. I dropped mine on a cement driveway and it still works perfectly fine. Sometimes I wonder if there's an oil to help with clumsiness... ;)
Fun fact #2: The retail price of the dewdrop diffuser is $136. Want to get it PLUS 11 bottles of essential oils PLUS resources and samples PLUS 24% off purchases for the next year for just a little bit more? Find out how here!
